AC problems beginning to snowball

Well, my issues with my 97 Tahoe started on a rather warm day and my compressor clutch would not engage. I then found that the reason behind that was no freon in the system. The reason for no freon was a leak in the condenser. I replaced the condenser but in removing the lower hard line must have messed up the threads on the nut and now it will not go back on. I have the new line with new fittings on it but am having difficulties trying to get the old line off to replace it without damaging anything else. Has anyone had better luck than I am and possibly have some advice for removing this line?

take it to a proper mechanic. clearly you have no idea how to remove simple nuts and bolts.

unless you have the equipment to evacuate and recharge properly. leave it to a shop to do it. and those lines will jamb up good on you.

I just had problems with getting my lines apart due to the fact it's been 14 years since they were put on. I used that freeze stuff from CRC and work awesome! Tried heating and would move. Did the freeze and came right off.

After giving up and taking the truck to a service center, I was told that the lines are froze on due to the different metals used for the lines and fittings. The next option is to replace the evaporator along with the hard line.
