AC problem - leaks in rear AC pipes

I have an 02 z71 Tahoe. The AC does not work. I took it to 1 shop, they said I had leaks in the pipes wich go to the rear ac. They said it would be about 1,100.00 to replace the pipes. Apparently the pipes are very expensive.
They also suggested capping the system off, giving me only front AC, this would cost 200-300.

I spoke to another mech. that claims he can fix the leaks.

Any input would be appreciated.

Holy $h!t, $1100 to replace AC pipes! I could be way off but that doesn't sound right to me but I don't know much about AC systems except how to turn them on. Hope you find a cheaper solution.

I got a cap system online 75.00, intalled it. It shuts off the rear AC.
