Okay so after replacing my compressor, accumulator, orfice tube, evaporator core, low pressure sensor, many seals and blocking off and essentially eliminating my rear AC I finally got the system charged and my high and low manifold gauges reading around where they should be (around 50 on the low and around 200 on the high).
My issue now is when I turn the air on my climate control panel and the snowflake light is lit up the compressor will not come on. Only after I turn the air conditioning button off and the temperature all the way down as low as it can go (60 degrees) will the compressor turn on and the air start working. It seems as though it doesn't stay on entirely it's just turning on to keep the air at 60° inside the truck because I will hear when the compressor cuts off and start to feel the air in the vents getting slightly warmer until eventually the compressor cuts back on.
I hooked up my scan tool and monitored the air conditioning button and when I hit it it still said the air was off on my scan tool even though the snowflake was illuminated on the screen. I did notice that if I pressed in and held the air conditioning button the signal on the scan tool did change to on but as soon as I let go of the button it shut off and the snowflake light on the display still continued to be illuminated.
Does this sound like my climate control panel is bad or is there some other issue I am not seeing. Has anyone dealt with anything like this? This air conditioning debacle has been a complete nightmare from start to finish but I feel like I'm finally at the home stretch. Thanks guys
