I have a 03' suburban 1500 2wd I just got the motor replaced and put new serp belt and ac belt well now the ac belt pops off. Could this be an alignment issue or a tensioner issue? It happens with the new belt and the old belt can't seem to figure it out.

Stand off to the side and look with one eye closed and see if out of alignment. C'mon man!

You likely have one of the mounting brackets at the wrong depth as far as where it bolts to the front of the engine. You took everything off the front when you replaced the engine and now you have not gotten the pieces back in the same position. I did that once a long time ago. I took pics of my problem rig. I went and looked at rigs the same year with the same engine at used car lots. I took pics. Since I wasn't there when you took it apart I cannot tell you what you did wrong. I just know that with an engine replacement that when you bolt everything back up to the front of the engine it can happen. look at what you think can be changed and get to where you want to be with belt alignment. If you look from the side with a keen eye you can see the misalignment and maybe see what you need to do.

Well I'll take a look but I didn't do the motor swap I took to a shop all I know is when they pulled the motor out they unbolted the ac unit from the motor first and the. Yanked the motor so I'll have to bring that up to him

Nothing worse than not getting details like "you had a shop do it." Take the ***** back to them and make them make it right. I am trying to help you thinking you did it and they are the ones who took out the engine and swapped everything over. It was ok before they touched it then not ok. We are wasting time and effort here talking about what they did, not what you did. C'mon man! They are the culprits. Damn!

I said I just got the motor replaced not I replaced the motor. But anyways if my ac unit is on a separate belt and not on the serpentine belt the 4 bolts that hold it in place doesn't give it room to be misaligned am I wrong?

The only things that throw belts is misalignment, bad pulleys/bearings or a bad belt or intermittent component locking up. Unless you got gremlins under the hood pushing it sideways while it is spinning. Something could be rubbing it on the side and push it off but again that is misalignment.

Ok, I guess the word got is the difference. My bad.

The attaching bolts for anything related to that belt could be loose and allow for the belt to walk while engine is running. Sorry about the rant. I know you are frustrated but damn it tell us if you did the swap or someone else did the sway. The word "got" don't cut it. The words "got it changed at a shop" do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotcha! Ok so I'll check the side of the belt I'm just trying to fix this myself but it just pops off while driving I let the ac go for a out 15 mins in my driveway and it was good so I figured the tensioner or the pulley is messed up cause as soon as the belt popped off it made a buzzing noise you know if you spin fast and it wobbles and bizza to a stop so I figured the pulley has some play in it I'll have to check that too
