Need a little help here gang, I am 1000 miles away from my Tahoe on a work trip but ordering parts up for some servicing to do when I get back next week as I have a road trip the following weekend.

That being said, I was wanting to order a tranny filter so it would be there before I get back but I am not sure if the 1999 2 door has the flat transmission pan or the deep (Stepped) pan.

I searched and got 13 pages without an answer and every time I do a parts search it says both fit.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Kyle

Not 100% sure but I think it was dependent if you got extra cooling as an option at the factory like an external cooler. that option might have added a deep pan as well.

Good call, Sunlit, I didn't think about that.

Can someone look in the glove compartment and see if the code for a tow package is there and then would bet it has the deep pan.

it is said by others that it is part of the tow package and that its slopes some how to accommodate the cross-member. the shallow pan is supposed to be flat and level the whole length.

found vin and gm east parts gives me a shallow pan based on vin. listed as 59.6mm deep in size.

I've got the deep pan, and not sure if this corresponds but I do have the Z82 towing package.

GM Parts East is showing the deep pan on the VIN search for me, so that seems to be an accurate way of finding out.

Thanks again everyone!
