At first I thought my cv shaft was bad due to a noisy clunk on large bumps, took the wheel off and it appears the cv shaft is good, but when I wiggle it, the plate on the differential moves with it, there is about an inch of travel and alot of play. I am wondering if there is a bearing behind the seal that is replacable without dropping the diff out. Also wondering if the front diff out of my 95 yukon will be interchangable, my 98 has push button auto tract and the yukon has the lever on the floor. Any help would be appreciated.

yes there are bearings at the ends which can be replaced and as long as each has the same gear ratio that matches the rear you should be fine however there is a possibility you may run into a wiring difference tho. can be fixed tho.
