96 Tahoe died

On my way to work my 1996 Tahoe 4x4 died. When I pulled over all it would do is crank. Checked for spark and was almost thrown off the Tahoe (strong blue spark). Listen for fuel pump and it sounded strong, checked fuel rail and had good flow of fuel. If you spray starting fuel in the intake at most times it would start and run like a bat out of hell. It will not start on its own needs some starting fuel then some times it would start and run then die. still same amount of fuel coming out of the fuel rail bleeder screw. We replaced the CPS and the fuel filter, no changes. Puzzled any help is appreciated.

Can you pull your OBDII codes? You may have fuel in feed lines but at what pressure? should b 56-62 psi when key is on but engine not running.

As you describe it sounds like your fuel has hit an obstruction some where.

Backtrack all of your electrical and hose connections first.

Can you measure your fuel pressure?

If it takes a long time to build it could be a bad regulator, a weak pump or a pickup tube blockage.

Why did you replace your crank position sensor?

i have had a simillar problem,,96 tahoe,after about 15-20 minutes of driving i come to a light,it just shuts off like a light switch,new fuel pump,filter,plugs,wires,cap,rotor,alt is good and so is battery,please help b4 dealer robs me

Can you not get to a parts stores with a scanning tool for help pulling your codes?
