Rebuilt the 4l80e in my 02 gmc 2500; new rosta wire harness; shouldnt have trusted the o-ring to seal when i plugged it in the case? It leaked so i drained the pan sorayed a can of electricla contact cleaner let it evaporate; shoved the connector back into the case and put down right stuff rtv and pulled the connector back in place. Let cure 48 hours and fill and its still leaking! It seems my rosta wire harness is leaking fluid right thru the middle of the dam thing? Time to drain the pan and buy a new wire harness. Any tips on sealing these pos connectors? If i designed a tranny i wouldnt have a 9 wire joint exposed to 250*f tranny fluid, but im not a cheap ass auto manufacturer.

I think im gonna use some epoxy to seal a new wire harness. Dont want rtv melting. Any better ideas?

Lol, no - do not use epoxy. You simply had the misfortune of buying a defective harness. Ive used those Rostra harnesses in more transmissions than I can count and never had one leak but have heard of it happening. Sucks but do NOT use any epoxy or RTV there. Just need a replacement, that's all.

Yes, it sucks but is what it is...
