Just a general question: Are the 2wd and 4x4 front suspensions the same for the 1500 SUVs? Basically, the torsion bars and hubs?
I remember on the older generation of trucks, you can't run the 4x4 hubs w/o the CV axles. I think the hubs fall apart or something? I guess that doesn't apply to the 2wd GMT800 SUVs? The 1500 trucks were coil spring for the 2wd, except a rare Silverado SS 2wd that had torsion bar.
On my 06 Suburban 2500, the front hubs are the same for the 2wd and 4x4. Just replaced mine a few months ago. My truck is a 2wd, the hub still have the splines.
