Can someone with a 2025 Yukon post a photo of your DEF gauge in the center DIC that the DEF tank is not full? All I am seeing is pretty much nothing except for some tiny white lines at the bottom. I only have 400 miles on the odo but seems it should show some colored bars?

What has that got to do with the question I asked which was answered long ago by the way, and posting in all caps is considered "shouting" on the internet forums!

The DEF level gauge does not operate like a typical float-style gauge that is used in a fuel tank. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the DEF level and consumption rate in order to calculate an estimated range. DEF levels are detected by the DEF level sensor.

DEF guages are awful, when you go in for service request they recalibrate it. My 2500 holds 7.5/gallons but even when over flowing (and after calibration) still shows 3/4. For the most part forget about it, just add every six months (or at end of season). By the way they were suppose to deliver truck with full tank if DEF, but dealerships departments skip that step

I think the poster that you are upset with was trying tell the original poster that the DEF usage may be less than in past diesel vehicles, so the gauge may not show any usage (or very minimal usage) with only 400 miles of driving.

These DEF gauges are crap. Just yesterday:

- I put 2.5 gallons in at 2,500 miles
- drove 400 miles
- immediately got alerts on the app that my DEF is low.

However, the driver info center said 1000 miles left and the gauge shows 3/4 full.

I agree!!! I just wish there actually was a manual dipstick so I could see what the level is.

I’ve now added 2/3 of yet another refill and my gauge still shows 2/3 full, and my app tells me to refill soon. lol what a crappy gauge.
