St. Helens, OR
Wife has a '21 with 48k on it.
I spent the last week in it on a large road trip.

I noticed that 'at times' the oil pressure was below 30psi at highway speeds, at other times it was running a fair a bit higher. I don't recall this ever being a thing. Also, after it had been running for a while it really seemed like it had a knock at idle. Mileage was amazing, ~30mpg on 2 lane state highways.

Not sure if it's really exhibiting an issue, planning on taking a 'wait and see' approach with the dealer on this one.
LM2 oil pressure spec is the following:

@1000rpm - 22-32psi

@2500rpm - 26-41psi

@4000rpm - 46-58psi

It is sad to see a failure like that but I am glad it is being taken care of. I would not read too much into this. I have a dealer friend who moves $2M a week worth of GM full sized p/u trucks and SUV's and he says the LM2 has been the most reliable GM engine in his and his father's experience. I have had four years and 44,000 happy miles. It keeps getting stronger and faster. When you're through this, I hope you enjoy this engine as much as I do.
