2022 Tahoe electrical issues again

Heads up.. out of nowhere I couldn’t open my moonroof and had no interior exit lights..couldn’t open my hatch from inside ..nothing worked using overhead unit ..
service safety restraint system was displayed as well which was apart of the airbag issues basically no working airbags at all..went back to Chevy Dealership to find that this problem is with 2021-2023 Tahoes, Cadillac Escalade, Denali, suburban.. they had to replace my whole overhead console unit completely. I wasn’t comfortable driving without operating airbags but GM/Chevy wouldn’t give me a loaner.. so I had to drive by faith until the replacement came in. So heads up if you have that year vehicle.. also the GM paper stated ALL vehicles in that year may be effected too. So FYI.. I’ve had so many electrical components replaced in this truck it’s ridiculous..

I have heard of this issue before and i believe they also had the moonroof. I wonder if it is a water intrusion getting into the overhead console area.

Maybe yours has a disconnected drain tube that needs repaired. That was a known issue as well and i believe it has a TSB out fir a fix of that as well.

I heard about this happening to some 2021 and 22’s, but not any 23’s.

Drives me crazy that GM does not do loaner vehicles. That alone is enough to make me look at a company like Infiniti going forward. Yes it’s probably more money for a similar vehicle but when you go in for service even if it’s something as small as an oil change you get a loaner.

Seriously, when I had a MDX, my Acura dealership would give me a loaner if I was dropping the car off for maintenance.

It is a dealer thing, not a GM thing.

"Courtesy" transportation is provided...and there are several programs GM offers the dealers, up to and including the dealer having a fleet of loaner cars they can have in the program, get reimbursed for, and sell.
My dealer has a shuttle that will take you wherever in town you need to go and pick you up again, and has loaner cars for overnight etc.

These are good questions to ask before purchasing a vehicle...sometimes maybe you buy from the dealer that has the amenities, and pay a few hundred more vs. shopping on price alone...value is more important than price.

Exactly. That’s why I’ll only do business with dealers that go the extra mile and don’t make me get my own secondary transportation.

That is good to know, as I thought it would be more of a GM thing. My GM dealer does offer Uber Service but I was comparing my previous experience with an Acura dealership. Based off your response, that's not a fair comparison. Sorry local GM dealer!

Interestingly enough, I just had my Tahoe into service (again) and they offered me a loaner and told me it was covered when the vehicle is under warranty. My vehicle has been into the dealership for service now like seven times (once for 13 days) and every single time I've asked for a loaner prior, they've told me they don't do loaners, but I can rent a vehicle from them for $45 per day. Yeah... no. I chalk it up to dealers just being clueless and no one working there having a single care to give.

Well shit I'll add that to my list of things to look out for, our Suburban has been pretty flawless aside from a squeak somewhere around the rear seat that won't go away and my Bluetooth intermittently started dropping out about a week ago.

And of course, after I'm a month out of 3/36, the "Service restraint system" comes back again. I would thing that since this is a safety thing it would be covered longer? Like an emissions warranty?

A good Dealer may do a “good will” fix since the warranty just lapsed.
