Update: All of the exact same issues reoccurred this morning. Chevrolet is paying to have the car towed to the local dealership. Less 48 hours after having the first block of failed lifters replaced. Not thrilled about this ordeal.

Jerking normally sounds like a misfire to me.

It always scares me when I hear about the early model year lifter issues. My Z71 was manufactured in August 2020 and I purchased in November 2020. I heard that changing the oil early on (and often) may prevent this problem from occurring, so I did my first oil change at 2500 miles, another at 6300 and another at 10,500. I did this last one just a few days before we left on a 2600 mile road trip. No problems at all and now we're getting ready for another road trip out West in October. I will get another oil change before we leave and hope that will prevent anything like this from happening, but I see the OP had his occur at 23,500. I thought that if this kind of thing was going to happen it would have occurred much sooner. :eek:
I think that's bogus. The lifters fail because of metallurgy problems I think, not because of the oil. Use the oil change indicator on your dash, sometimes that even seems too soon. With a modern synthetic and a motor that holds 8 quarts 6,000 miles isn't an unreasonable maintenance schedule by any means. Somehow motors survived before but now a lifter fails and it's the fault of the oil? I don't think so.

I wouldn't drive it back to the dealer, but have them come pick it up. I don't know if its the lifters or not. Did they replace one bank of lifters or both? I wouldn't trust it until they figure out the issue your dealing with.
If it's under warranty, I would drive it back to the dealer. In fact, I would make sure to go WOT as much as possible. If that powertrain ***** itself on the way, you'll get get a new one.

That's a difficult pill to swallow on an $80,000 vehicle, but so is driving it with the constant threat of a lifter failure after repair.

Just the idea of having major engine work in a brand new $80k vehicle would make me half sick. I had a GM lemon many years ago and I still remember the disappointment.

Sorry to hear! I too had the bad news on my Yukon 2022 SLT. I purchased it 12/26/2021 for my Christmas present for my self and it has been a nightmare since. Right off the lot I had a "transmission hot idle engine error" when driving home. That took about 3 visits to various dealers to finally figure out and when finally resolved the issue, the truck had about 1780 miles. Ended up being a twisted transmission fluid line. I was glad they figured it out but I'm sure I overheated the tranny fluid quite a few tiimes in-between. The alarm does not go off until 266degrees which I would have to drive at least an hour to replicate. So, quite a few drives where the temp went to 250+. Truck seemed to run fine since.

Now, at 7300 miles got the dreaded "service esc" "service traction control" & "forward collision system unavailable" Towed to a local dealer and they confirmed misfire on #8 cylinder and collaped lifter. I am at my witts end with this truck! I still owe 68K or so but they have totally ruined my new cay buying experience and I don't know what to do about it. I DON'T WANT THIS TRUCK ANYMORE! THIS IS ********!

Local dealer will only cover $40/day for rental. I bought this truck from a dealer that is about 1.5 hour drive from me. They have been helpfull giving me a Denali for the tranny issue but not sure what to do now. I love the truck but not after going through all of this. i feel this truck is tainted and I want another one. That is going to be my next email to the dealer I bought it from. Even if they repair the lifter, WOULD YOU GUYS FEEL THIS TRUCK IS RELIABLE AFTER ALL OF THIS?

If I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK 12/26/21 HOW DO I KNOW THE BUILD DATE. THEY REFER TO IT AS A 2022 BUT NOW I AM WIERY ABOUT THAT. I THOUGHT THE LIFTER ISSUES WERE IN THE 2021 MODELS. VERY FRUSTRATED!
