2020 Tahoe Z71 looking for trailer brake controller to pull 5000 pound camper - my sticker stated only "trailering package" dealership says this does NOT include brake controller. Is CURT controller install difficult?

Wow! it's been almost a year since last posted about trailering now I'm about to take action
My question is has anyone tried the Curt Echo (bluetooth/iPhone) wireless? I can get it locally
for about $410 but I'm old school and don't trust wireless stuff so much.

If wiring one in I recommend the Tekonsha P3. Not necessarily from eTrailer, but https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/Tekonsha/90195.html
It's been almost a year since I started thinking about trailering - now I'm planning to take action
What do you think about the Curt ECHO? I think you stick it into the 7-pin and then you "talk" to it
through an iPhone as you drive. Supposed to providde smooth electric proportional braking to trailer equipped electric brakes. Locally it's available for about $410.

I am guessing that like my 2013 the wires for a brake controller is under the dash. If so it is about a 30 minutes install. The Tekshona, mentioned is excellent.

I think the ECHO would be good if the tow vehicle changed a lot (less wiring), but I favor the stability and integrity of a wired connection.

Good info - I like hard wired systems, too. What do you think of the RedArc Tow-Pro liberty up to two axles (US$217)??

I favor wired also but the popular Takonsha Prdigy P3 is not listed as compatible on the Chevy Tahoe accessory website. Checy lists the curt echo but no other Curt controllers
