Hello.

Been wanting a Tahoe PPV or SSV for many years now, finally found “the one” , a 2018 Tahoe PPV. Flew out, bought the truck, and drove it 1000 miles home. I’m just in love with it.

I like doing my own maintenance and just messing around with my vehicles, so I look forward to using this forum for guidance if needed and hopefully contributing to others questions to the best of my knowledge. This is the newest Chevrolet that I’ve had, so there might be some differences from what I’m used to that I need to ask about. Previous owner of a 2013 Silverado work truck, 2013 Tahoe LT, ‘98 Suburban amongst several others.

Thanks for having me

Thanks for the kind welcome. This is the only pic I have just to hold everyone over for now. lol. Will definitely get some better pictures once I can shine her up real good.

Welcome from NJ. Post up a few pics. Know which agency it originally came from?

Yes, it came from a sheriff’s office in Missouri.

Quick question: Last Chevy engine I did a tune up on was a 2013 5.3. Does anyone know if there are any major differences between the 2013 and 2018 iteration of the 5.3 as far as a basic tune up is concerned? It looks pretty much the same with just some more plastic in the way. Apparently the 2018 version is not a Vortec anymore.

That’s a nice color and I’m digging the black spotlight.

I’m not sure where to point you on the engine though.

Pics of the truck, please.

Nice find!

@BlackBearPerf can tell you if your 2018 can be tuned.

Welcome! As others have said, nice color!!

Unless it's running rough, I'd not worry about a tune up. We did plugs/wires/filters on our '10 Tahoe PPV, just because it was at ~100K miles, and it made zero noticeable change in the way the truck ran. Our '18 Tahoe PPV developed a miss, and since it was at ~98K miles, I threw plugs and wires on it, which fixed the miss issue. It's the first vehicle I've ever had that plugs/wires actually did anything. So, YMMV.

Upgraded radio and PPV lower dash. Interesting. Is it key or pushbutton start?

Very clean!

Key!! Thankfully. Not saying push button is a deal breaker but.. it’s kind of a deal breaker. I specifically looked for a Tahoe with keys. I didn’t know PPV of this era had push button option.

I don't know if they are either, hence my question. I've never seen one with the radio head unit you have either.

That’s awesome bud! I have the near twin to yours! My interior looks to be the same also! Your paint cleaned up a lot better though.
