2017 Yukon XL SLT 5.3l - Is there a Fuel Filter?

All websites (parts Geeks, Rock Auto, Auto Zone, Napa etc..) all have this fuel filter as "not serviceable" ? There has to be a fuel filter. I have not jacked my vehicle up yet to look. The rain has been non-stop.. I want to replace because fuel rail pressure is 42 psi and the range is 55-62psi...

no filter, it's part of the fuel pump assembly
42 is pretty close to "running" psi which I believe is 43-44, a manual gauge would be best to verify, 55+ is for key-on/engine-off
the pre-2007 were different pressure

Of course it has one. But if you’re looking for an inline filter that you can easily replace, those haven’t been present on GM trucks since 2007ish.. 06 may have been the last year. i’m really drawing a blank if my ‘07 classic had the filter or if it had already been decontented. I know the ‘07 “new” bodystyles did not have it.

Of course it has one. But if you’re looking for an inline filter that you can easily replace, those haven’t been present on GM trucks since 2007ish.. 06 may have been the last year. i’m really drawing a blank if my ‘07 classic had the filter or if it had already been decontented. As of GMT900, look inside the fuel tank; like Doubelieve says.

As of GMT900, look inside the fuel tank; like Doubelieve says.

you could add one if you feel like cutting and flaring the fuel line...... but the filter being right at the pump kinda negates that. if it gets clogged at the pump then the secondary one serves no purpose. other than "extra" filtering.

If it is not possible to add a fuel filter PRIOR to the fuel-pump-filter, my bad.

Wow. My ‘07 classic was a 2500 — so maybe why I’m struggling remembering if it had the inline filter by the frame rails like the hardbody.

The more i think about it the more i feel like it did NOT have the inline filter, and had already shifted to the fuel pump only because i vaguely remember researching at the time , i discovered that the inline filter had been decontented in years prior.

I always felt like regardless of the redundancy, the inline fuel filter should have remained.

I feel the same way but on the other hand how many fuel related issues have people had in the last 20 years without it...

valid — but in all honesty i feel like the answer is, who knows?

perhaps the fuel quality in general is better overall than many years prior but i just feel like the extra filtration can’t hurt, even if redundant.

I know, i know. All about a dollar.
