Hoping some one has some info on this. Recently got a 16 Escalade esv. When driving and it kicks down to V4 I get a vibration/humming noise that’s coming from the right front area. It’s only when in V4 and have a little bit of acceleration. As soon as I get on the gas enough to go back to V8 it goes away.

look under the truck for a flap with a spring on it along the exhaust pipe it will be on the right side either before or after the muffler, you can try holding it open with some bailing wire and see if the noise goes away.

Found that valve, it is already stuck open. I can push it in and it springs right back open on its own, I’ll all the way in the back under the 3rd row of seats. The noise seems to be coming from the firewall or under the front seat area

might just be the way it is in v4 some people can't tell the difference I can and have it disabled so it never goes into v4 mode

Have you had transmission fluid changed to the new blue label mobile one fluid their is TSB on this? Sometimes the trans will give feeling (noise)of driving on wash board.

Im not to sure about the fluid. I just got it about 3 weeks ago and noticed this noise once the afm had kicked in.

Is the afm disable worth it?
it's cheap enough to do any used can tuner will work or there is a range device, the canned tune it better because you can change a couple other things. the real meat is in a tune they tweak the motor and transmission so it is more pleasant to drive. blackbear does them but that's the more expensive route.

Just went for a drive and noticed it was around about 1200 rpm, I pushed the tow/haul button went away until I got back around 1200rpm again. Maybe not an afm but a trans issue?

I have a 2016 Yukon Denali 4x4. My transmission was doing the same thing and occassionally sounded like i was driving over the rumble strips on the side of the road. When I described it to the dealer they knew exactly what it was. They had issues with the transmission fluid that was originally used. Once it was changed, it was all good again.

I'm having a similar gremlin on my 2015 Yukon Denali XL 4wd. I just posted the issue and didn't get any feedback: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/weird-drivetrain-sound.135445/

It sounds very similar to what I'm experiencing. I've been explaining it as a metallic sound like a heat shield is loose. Driving over grate or rumble strips better describes it. It generally happened coming out of turns. It happened a few times to slowing down in traffic then accelerating in a straight line.

Here is the Service Bulletin.

Did you ever find out what this issue was? I have a 2018 that is doing this too and can not get a diagnosis. Thank you!
