Having made its debut for the 2014 model year as an all-new model, the K2XX-platformed, fourth-generation Chevrolet Tahoe has become quite the sales hit despite the notable price increase. And for the 2016 model year, the full-size SUV is getting some welcome changes and updates.

To start, the 2016 Chevy Tahoe does away with two exterior colors while gaining two new ones:

Deleted Colors
Crystal Red Tintcoat
White Diamond Tricoat

New Colors
Siren Red Tintcoat
Iridescent Pearl Tricoat

Inside, the 2016 Chevy Tahoe does away with the integrated SD card reader in the center console as well as the AM/FM stereo with CD player, officially marking the end of an integrated CD player for the Tahoe. Meanwhile, the SUV gains the reconfigurable gauge cluster, head-up display (HUD), IntelliBeam headlamps, and Lane Keep Assist, which replaces Lane Departure Warning.

In addition, the capless fuel fill system is now standard on all trim levels, the Theft Protection Package (UTT) adds the liftgate shield, and a revision to the Enhanced Driver Alert Package contains power-adjustable pedals, Forward Collision Alert, IntelliBeam headlamps, Lane keep assist and safety alert seat.

Unfortunately, the 2016 Tahoe does not see GM’s new 8-speed transmission nor the 6.2L EcoTec3 L86 V8 engine, even as optional equipment.

Check the official RPO-level changes for yourself just below.

Is the CD player gone, as in not an option? I understand not including an 8track or cassette player, but CDs are still pretty common.

Well the lane keep assist is pretty cool. This actively guides the car back into the lane should you wander rather than just yelling at you about it via a seat vibrator.

IntelliBeam headlamps, This will be cool also. On most other brands this eliminates the need for using high beams. The headlights automatically see other cars and stop the light going to just that area of the field of light output, very cool.

Im bet the security shield for the rear hatch is just a guard to protect from using a shim or something to that effect to open the rear hatch.

More importantly, This would indicate similar or more changes to the GMC Denali. Cant wait to see as I may be replacing mine soon
