Just picked this used unit up, drives great other than the stock shocks are way too soft. Any recommendation for replacements to firm it up? 35k miles on it. 4x4 LT

These are the Bilstein HD part numbers.

These are the Bilstein 5100 part numbers.

The 5100 allow you to lift the front and should have better valving than the HD. I pulled the part numbers from Bilsteins website.

Any particular reason why people are raising the front end slightly. I.e. us the 5100 instead of the Bilstein HD? I never thought of it as looking like it needed to be raised. Just curious to see what thoughts are. I have 62k on our Yukon and I want to get rid of the stock shocks and I've liked the Bilsteins in my other vehicles.

The Tahoe/Suburban is raked...ass up in the air compared to the front. The 5100 series has digressive valving which provides a slightly better ride and also offers ride height adjustability in the front from 0.75" higher than OEM up to 2" higher than OEM. I had these on my 2013 F-150 and in all honesty, the F-150 raised on taller off-road tires had a MUCH better ride than my 2015 Suburban. As soon as I get the opportunity, the shocks are getting changed out.
