2015 Tahoe LTZ instrument cluster ground location?

I’m having an issue with my 2015 Tahoe LTZ. The cluster is going crazy giving me tons of error messages and also the gauges going in and out. Seems to me like 90% it’s a ground issue, no way all these things failed at once.

Anyone know where the ground location is for the instrument cluster? I did search online didn’t find it.

Having the same issue here, any insight would be wonderful. 2016 LT. Gauges randomly all go to zero and then pop back up leaving “service” messages on the dash. I checked and cleaned what grounds i could find but no luck so far

So this issue was intermittent then now it totally Grenaded my car. Can’t even start it anymore electrical problems like crazy.

I checked 3 grounds and cleaned multiple connectors. There is a ground in the top left of the dash(right by the driver a-pillar) and I also checked the firewall, engine block, and chassis grounds. All were good. Also battery and alternator was tested good.


I’m leaning toward a bad BCM now. The car is totally bricked.

Yes I fixed it. I didn’t buy a new BCM the issue was actually a bad side detection module that was corrupting the canbus on the car and causing the BCM to go haywire. It was intermittent as well. But the side detection module has stored codes for com faults so I knew something was up there.

The best way to troubleshoot this like I did is to get a good scanner and scan all your modules. Any that pop up with any codes I’d disconnect it and see if the problem goes away. Do that one module at a time. That’s what I did and once the side detection module was unplugged the truck runs fine. Hope that helps.

Just the codes relating to tire pressure, side traffic sensors. Dealer tested and all are fine. Initially all cluster gauges are wacky, turn signal not working, break light is still on, and gear light on cluster does not show the right gear. Car still runs fine and cluster if OK after 2-3 minutes.

Just for the heck of it, if the side sensors aren't working, unplug them and see if the issue returns.

I mean I posted that in this thread as the solution to disconnect suspect modules. You need a dealer to pull a connector off a module you can reach in 2 min?

Just disconnect the passenger side module as it’s the master and the driver is the slave. Only the driver coms on the CANBUS.

It's spitballing but who the heck knows with the way the network can get corrupted from a bad module or sensor these days.

Did you ever find a solution to the issue? Mine's at the shop for the same reason and the dealership keeps guessing on what it is, 3 weeks and no resolution. 2015 Tahoe LT here - drives great, just wonky electrical stuff going on. Waiting on an Onstar Module now......

And sometimes other modules will "tell" on the defective module with a "no comm" code. Look for commonality.
I have a 2015 Suburban LTZ & my gauges were going crazy, service abs, stabilitrack, 4X4, every light was on, was in “Limp mode” no power steering (Power Steering Reduced alert on dash) mainly after going through excessive rain/puddles but also if hit any potholes & after hours of diag at a shop (no bus communication) they replaced the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) & it fixed everything. There was also a few warning lights afterwards that were on caused by a connector that needed to be cleaned. Now everything works fine dealership list price on the part was like $800, around $200 for the reprogram & expect some potential brake lines if they dont come out easy.

just leave it disconnected?
