2015 8" Factory Link replacement with aftermarket?

Hello everyone, i just bought a 2015 Tahoe LTZ and have been looking at the very limited radio options. Went to the dealer and they said there is not upgrade for this radio. I found a 3rd party online that will install the latest radio on here but for about 2k. Has anyone replaced this piece of junk with a good double-din radio and if so, what are the steps? I saw on here someone replacing a 4" one but i believe my 8" touchscreen is different.

There's a dash kit for your truck, so I'm guessing it is possible. Just need to get the right parts.
