2012 Yukon XL Spark Plugs and Wires

Changed my plugs and wires on my 2012 Yukon XL. I don't think my plugs were in horrible shape but being that I just bought the truck with 136k miles, figured I start with fresh plugs. Picked up some NGK Iridiums and BWD Wires. Surprisingly, the install was incredibly easy. Even getting to spark plug #8 was a breeze with the 5/8" swivel socket.

Yup, these are easy to work on compared to most others !!!
And I don't run my plugs much longer than 5 years or 50K , even
using irridiums, but I'm very particular

It will idle smoother and get better mpg on the highway since thats where the better spark really makes a difference.

I feel like the idle still has some random dips in it. This was happening even before I changed the plus. It idles around 500rpm but ai feel it dip ever so slightly but it never stalls out. Is it typical for a Yukon?

Mines an 08 and does not have a "silky smooth idle". i wont say there is a noticeable drop in rpm, it simply isnt a smooth idle. just did a water pump/radiator/vvt solenoid/cam position sensor/up stream 02 sensors/cleaned throttle body/maf and the car runs great but has a "stumble" in the idle. ill find it eventually but i am one of those who feel it is inherent to the 6.2, there is a video clip on this forum that proves me wrong but im stubborn!

They idle better with the idle up around 550 rpms. This is one of the things the tuners do.

Yup on the idle.. I turned my up 100 rpm over stock
Smoothed it out nice. I also have the H3 motor mounts, so they make
it a little harsher idle

Wasn't impressed with NGK iridiums in my '01 5.3. The OEM Delco plugs lasted about 110k miles and then I swapped in the NGKs because iridium plugs were the new whiz-bang shiny new type of plug. Right at 190k, I started getting hard starts and a rough idle. Swapped the plugs, and the electrode tips were heavily eroded and virtually gone - basically looked like the tip of a tack/nail. So the NGKs barely made it 80k, and the Delco platinums lasted 37% longer.

I thought my '01 came with ACDelco iridiums? I too changed the original plugs at about 110k. Put in same kind that came out and it currently has 213k. They might've been platinum, can't remember.
