I heard about the issue and my '07 had a sharp ridge so I asked the dealer before the warranty expired and they replaced them no questions asked.

I had this problem when I bought my 07 and bought a new handle off ebay. I had been at the dealership to get some things from the parts dept and decided to have them install the new handle while I was there. They were happy to do so and charged me an hour of labor. I thought nothing of this until reading about this issue being common. The part that really bugs me is they made no mention of this being a warranty replaceable issue and once done they had not properly set the seat heater buttons in the handle cutout so now they do not operate properly. :mad what should I do at this point? I had this done only about a month ago.

I have the same problem on my 2009 Yukon with 44k miles. I'm waiting on the sales mgr from the local dealer where I bought it from to call me. I have already spoken to GMC customer service who has now turned it over to a district specialist who has contacted the dealer. We have cut ourselves bad enough to bleed on these razor sharp edges. I say since this issue can cause injuries, GM needs to consider replacing all door handles for the lifetime of the vehicle - and not for certain VIN #s or model years- but for all GM vehicles with this safety issue problem.
It was covered on SCP (special coverage policy) 09239 for 2007 vehicles for 10yrs/100k miles. So, why should it matter if your vehicle is a different year but has the same defective part? GM needs to rectify this and make this a mandatory recall as a safety issue.
