Hello all.....
Newbie here that just purchased a 2011 Yukon Hybrid with the OEM Navi, Bose Surround, On-Star, Bluetooth, and Back-up Camera. My question is, does anyone know if there is an AUX input on the BACK of the unit? Is there a way, short of removing the unit, that I can find the model number so I can look up specs? The reason I'm asking is that I had the dealership install a roof-mounted DVD player that they told me would be OEM. Unfortunately their definition of OEM is much more lose than mine.... :)). The audio only plays through the speakers when the player is connected via FM and the quality sucks. I noticed in the player manual wiring directions to connect it to an AUX input. Any suggestions??

I'm not sure if it has a rear aux input ... but aren't those roof mounted DVD players only supposed to be heard through the headphones?

Forgive my ignorance if it isn't the case, I've had two of these trucks and never turned that thing on.

I think it would be fair to say that is the preferred method by the manufacturers, but they do also have what is essentially an FM transmitter built in that broadcasts over a specific frequency that you tune your radio too to hear the audio over the vehicles speakers. Now the true OEM DVD player is actually hardwired into to sound system and has it's own input that one could chose if they wanted to listen over the vehicle speakers.

They play through the speakers or headphones.

Ok back on track here....lol! I know what my current options are for playback. I need to know if there is an AUX input on the back of the NAV Unit or an aftermarket wiring harness that I can use to hardwire the audio directly into my stereo.

Well, if you go to gmpartsdirect and find the nav page for the Hybrid, you will see two part numbers. One is for the unit with voice recognition and one is for without voice rec. The part numbers are 22776895 and 22776896.

Perhaps the parts dept at your dealership has detailed schematics. Otherwise you can contact Denso tech support and see if they happen to know. I'm almost certain Denso makes all the nav units for these trucks.

Also, anyone who has installed a lockpick in their Hybrid would probably know.

That's all I got.

You're welcome.

I mean I'm not sure how hard it is to just pull it out of the dash and see for yourself.
At worse, if it doesn't have one and you don't mind sacrificing the one in the front, a good electronics guy should be able to route that signal to the back of the unit, or at least somewhere hidden behind the dash where it can connect with the dvd wire.

I suck at technology. :(
