I just bought a used 2007 Yukon with the Factory Navigation. When I got home I tried to get the Navigation to work but there is not a DVD installed behind the face of it. I called the GMC place and they said the last updated disk was made in 2016 and there will not be anymore updates. Does anyone have a link to where you can down load a image of the latest disk to burn a copy ? Would love to get my factory Navi to work with out spending $180.000 for a new disk

Check eBay, might be able to find one for a decent price. I had a NAV unit in mine, but used WAZE for real time traffic and speed traps. It's gotten me out of more than one ticket.

Have you ever used one of these factory navs? Chances are high that you'll regret investing anything into it. The interface is clunky to use, it has limited functions, it's slow to respond (mainly because it has to find the info on a disk, circa 1995 style), etc. You could spend half of what that disk costs on any Garmin and be worlds ahead in the nav game. Now, if you're one of those that just wants it to be functional and cheap, there are bootleg copies available, but they're very hit-or-miss if they work.

Waze for the win. The crowd-sourced traffic and smokey reports are very helpful and as Danny3737 said, it has saved me from many tickets and sitting in gridlock over the years as well as it will auto re-route around any problems.

That said, you will need a nav disc to enable any voice command capability for other things like putting in Bluetooth and pairing your phone. As Danny3737 also said, check ebay for this. I just checked and they cost $19 there.

The factory NAV in my '08 is not super user-friendly but it works fine.......so long as it can correlate to roadways that existed the last time it was updated, which was who knows when.

$9 fits my budget for updating it. Just ordered it!!

We rented a new Chrysler Pacifica that came with navigation and it worked nearly the same as the Yukon's but had better resolution. Being an old map guy, the navigation unit is fine for me. Kinda neat that it knows most of the choke and pukes and if the gas gets low it shows where the nearest stations are.

I learned a long time ago not to purchase knock-offs and then expect the owner of the software to address any issues I had with the product. So, I paid the $179 for my updated disk for my 2008 Tahoe. After a career of a hospital administrator, now retired, I developed the habit of assuring what I purchased was the best thing for the patients. And if it was a good enough policy for my patients, it was certainly good enough for me.

I understand and agree with you seeking and expecting the best for your patients. But, we're not talking about human lives here. It's an $8 bootleg copy of a program to keep a crappy OEM navigation system marginally functional at best. I'd risk the $8 a few times over before ever paying $179 for the real deal. For $179, I could get a super nice Garmin that's even more up-to-date, has tons more features, is far easier to use, is further updateable, etc. than the OEM nav will ever be.

iamdub, I already have a nice Garmin unit that I used before I bought the update a couple months ago. I just have trouble with things that do not work as advertised and holding people and companies accountable for what they do or sell or support, etc. I have a grand daughter who drives, (I gave her my 2011 Silverado that had 9166 miles on it for her sixteenth birthday last year), and her vehicle has no navigator. Therefore, I have the Garmin unit to "loan" her on occasion. And I need the Tahoe nav to be working properly. So, as I tend to not trust knock-off, "real deal" stuff, I was comfortable updating the Tahoe with OEM stuff that can and will be supported by GM. We all have different reasons for what we do. What works for you may not work for me. And, as an after thought, we very well could be talking about human lives is someone is relying of a back channel nav set that sends them the wrong way down a one way highway lane.

After 8 careful attempts at updating my nav with my $8 ebay disc, no go.
"Disc read error"

Your mileage may vary.
