I am working on replacing the front bumper on a 2005 Tahoe LT from a minor fender bender. It was in a previous high impact front-end accident courtesy of my (at the time) high school daughter. It looks like the shop grinded the frame to take off the material that was bent / rounded. I purchased new brackets, but the tapped holes in the bracket do not line up with the holes in the frame. This job has been on the back burner, so unfortunately, I threw out the old brackets before I received the new ones. Yes, they are after-market brackets.

I would like to know if there was something I am missing with this before I start grinding. One side of the frame extends a little further out than the other. My next step is to see if I can find some OEM brackets and at least compare them to the ones I have.

I also attached a stock image of the type of bumper that is on the truck.

Thank you in advance!

David

Lesson learned. The aftermarket brackets are junk. The nuts that are welded to the brackets are not offset like OEM and the bracket they are welded to was welded crooked on the main bracket.
