2004 vs 2005/06 Tahoe

Okay, so the 2005 loaded Tahoe was too much $$ for what I would be getting, dealer questionable etc... Maybe my price range is better served in the 2004...what's the difference between the years 04-05? Read something about "piston slap" in the 04's...what the heck is that? Seems from this forum that the mpg is about the same for both yrs. So I'm still in search of and trying to compromise...

no HUGE difference off the top of my head other than the 05's and up come with E-fans which is a big plus, but nothing that you couldnt mod yourself into an 04 for a couple hundred bucks. piston slap being a problem? dunno. youre gonna get sme piston slap until it warms up but lots of vehicles have that.

Thanks, lowering my year might be a consideration, except if I buy a warranty, it seems modifying it with the fan may void the warranty...at least that's been my experience. Then again, I could bank the money I save and not get a warranty...

00-06 are all the same, some minor changes throughout the years, but they're essentially the same.

'00-'02 interior and engine
'03-'04 interior, engine (compartment), no under the hood light
'05+ same interior as '03-'04, e-fans, and back window doesn't have molding around the outside its just a handle in the center
