Personally I find an untraveled road, plenty around here, park in my lane and adjust the low beams to suit me. I throw a coat or blanket over one side and aim the other. Passenger side I try to point straight down the white line or edge of the road, the drivers side I aim to intersect the white line a little past the passengers side. Think about where you are usually looking at night with oncoming traffic and point the main beam there, I usually go for a drive around then and see if that is working for me, if I get flashed with the low beams on then I know I have them too high and adjust them down a bit. High beams take care of themselves.
