I hope someone can help. I have replaced my instrument cluster several times, and do not have the original. I need a part number for an instrument cluster for a Z71 with the computer that lets you choose driver 1 or 2, gives you the % life left on oil, MPG etc (all of the computer functions come from using the left side steering wheel control buttons. Need a for sure part number with these functions (which include, setting the puddle lights, how long the lights stay on after you exit the car, driver 1 or 2 selection, language, etc (can't remember all the functions, but being a Z71, should have all of them). Dealer is of no help, even with the VIN. All help is appreciated.

I'd think all clusters would have the same part number. All functions would be there, but access to them would depend on the buttons being present.

Plug your VIN into gmpartsgiant.com and look at the Instrument Panel & Related Parts-Electrical. This is what comes up for my 2004 LT with the DIC (Driver Information Center). Bet yours is the same. Use that part number to search eBay, Amazon, etc. Doubt there are any new ones out there, but I could be wrong.

Well.......The first cluster I received, the vehicle would not stay running. The second cluster had no data provided from the left hand buttons on the steering wheel. Of course, the clusters are discontinued, so I have to buy a Cardone remanufactured unit, and their part numbers are different than the GM ones. I talked with a dealership, andper my VIN, they gave me a P/N, so I asked does it have the computer function, he said no.......so he says mine was added after the fact. What I think happened is that previous owner, had a cluster failure, and they took a regular cluster and flashed it to have the enhanced function........needless to say, I am needing a p/n yhat is verified with the computer function.
