2002 tahoe headlights stay on all the time in daytime with key on running

they go off when key is off . they stay on all the time when running in daytime, i tried putting bright light on sensor on dash only way to turn off is pressing dome light button 4 times ,help

The brightness of the interior lights is controlled by the ambient light sensor on the dash. is the brightness changing with differing light levels? If not my bet is bad sensor.

I know this is a dumb question, but are you sure it's not just your daytime running lights?

I was honestly thinking the same thing. When I first got my Hoe I thought my sensor had went bad as well.
