Hi all - Looking for some help. My 2001 Tahoe has a suspension lift, unknown manufacturer as it was already on the truck. I desperately need to complete an alignment due to the new tires before I hit the road. I’ve been to 4 Wheel Parts in Oakland and both times they stated I need new upper control arms before the alignment will stick and be completed. They keep quoting stock parts (in this case from O’riley). What they can’t seem to understand is I have strong arms installed and those need to be replaced with similar. The catch being my previous tire shop had a guy that knew suspensions well and replaced one. Unfortunately he did not provide me the part number but I recall him saying it was typically a different year model (earlier) and possibly for a Silverado or some other make but he knew what it was by looking at it. Included below are two photos. The one with the orange shock shows what’s on my ruck now that I need to replace on both sides. If anyone has ideas on what model this comes from. I did find what looks to be a similar item online for an 88 to 98 C1500. Picture here as well. I’m also curious if I really need to replace the arms or just the bushings. They said it’s cheaper to just replace the arms but for stock O’Riley stuff I’m sure it is but not to replace these. I’m guessing two of these are going to run me $600+. Welcome any thoughts you might have to help me out.
