Video of the Sound:

Quick Back Story: Bought this Tahoe last week from someone my Dad knows. It was sitting for couple months as the primary owner had died but the car was driven around the block once every 2-3 weeks by the widow. It had some issues that was disclosed, but I was comfortable with what it was for the price. Swapped the battery and planned to bring it to the shop to get the fluids changed (Strata doesn't allow fluid changes so unable to do it myself). I get in hear some clicking(see video above) and the battery is dead, and I am unable to start the car. If I move the light switch to any non-off option the clicking stops.

Car ran the day before. Runs/Brakes smooth with no CEL or issues I did not know about previously. First car I've solely owned so I just want to be able to fix/drive this thing. Unsure of what this is as I am not well versed in diagnosing Auto Electrical. Wondering if anyone has any Ideas.

Quick Run down:

1999 Tahoe LT, 4x4, 5.7 Vortec, Automatic Trans. 218xxx KMs/135xxx Miles

Other Points/Known Issues:

  • Aftermarket Audio Installed

  • Stuck in AWD MODE (Service 4WD light). Button doesn't swap the mode. Assume its the button or the actuator.

  • Driver side power windows do not work. The driver side buttons do not either for the other windows( I Assume the button cluster is broken, or an issue with the wiring.)

  • Power Locks (and buttons) work, but do not pull down the Driver side the whole way down.

  • Tail Gate Latch Broken. Waiting on New latch to repair.

Thought I'd try to get this going. Is that with the dead battery? Does it do the same with a charged battery? I've had a relay buzzing, most likely from bad voltage/ground, but didn't sound like that. It almost sounds like the hazard light relay. Also sounds like it may be more than one. Maybe you have a bad/stuck relay causing this is all I can think of?

Might want to start by finding which relay/s is/are clicking. There's some on a board below the light switch/ behind the footbrake just above the floor. There's also some on a panel on the side of the drivers side dash that you access with the door open, basically behind and above the light switch.
