03 Tahoe LT EOW 0830 Feb 23, 2026. Lady failed to yield at intersection of 2 highways and I creamed her passenger rear quarter of her little bitty Target, errr I mean car. Totaled my Tahoe with all damage limited to front passenger side, fender and hood. You can imagine what my radiator and A/C condenser coil looked like. Air bag went off and I was lucky that I sat back far enough that I didnt eat it. Tahoe is Done. (Taps plays in the background)
I walked away. Dont know what they did with the Mrs. Fail to yield. State Police didnt give me any information about her. I do know that alot of her car was scattered across the intersection.

Im not sure what happens next. The Indiana State Police didnt even tell me whether they gave the woman a ticket for failure to yield. She literally turned left (Her left) in front of me while we were both on US 40 (A Highway). I was eastbound and she was southbound facing West.

a general rule of thumb is whoever is listed as party 1 is the one determined at fault. Accidents usually do not also include a ticket on top of it, just depends I guess if the officer wants to add insult to injury.
normally you can get a copy of the accident report in about 3 business days at the main office of the department that took the report, that gives the officer time to get it all finalized and turned in.

As an entire vehicle, sure, it's done, duh-done-dun-DONE. As an organ donor parts car, bet there's quite a bit of useful/serviceable stuff left on it.

Enough to buy another with a bad motor or trans and swap it all out with old faithful's parts.
