1998 Tahoe tuner suggestions

Any recommendations on a ob2 tuner i can get for my stock 5.7L v8. Currently I'm getting approx 13.5 mpg... I'd like to improve that if possible.. Any help greatly appreciated

That's the typical mileage you get with those ones even when new.

2WD or 4WD? What's your axle(s) ratio? What size are your tires?
Is that city or highway MpG?

If you go with 3.73 (or 4.10, if 3.73 is not enough), your city MpG will improve, and your 4L60E will last longer too.
However, your highway MpG will stay the same (3.73), or may go down slightly (4.10).

If you've a 5plug or 4plug Vortec pcm, very seriously look into rewiring your harness to convert to a 12200411 pcm.
That pcm alone is worth MpG, no joke, not to mention the possibility of using a fully enabled Aussie operating system.

4 wheel drive.... 185,000 miles... no idea what the rear end ratio is. Not interested in rewiring the pcm

If you're seriously interested in pcm tuning, it'd be to your benefit to improve your tuning opportunities and possibilities to the 12200411.

Most folks here who obtain tunes are looking for more performance versus improved mpg.

I suggest that you call BlackBear Performance (@BlackBearPerf) and talk to them about your desire through a tune. Many folks here have their tunes installed.

My brother has got a '97 with the same 5.7L and was in the same boat—rough mpg. He picked up a Superchips Flashpaq and saw a slight bump in mileage, plus better throttle response. Not a miracle fix, but worth it, I guess. Just make sure your sensors and injectors are clean too.
