So it begins. I picked up a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe LT about a month or two ago. When I found it, it was sitting behind a shop. Neglected and forgotten. I wound up trading my R-Titled 1996 Pontiac Firebird V6 for it. I definitely had my work cut out for me, and still do to an extent.

Initial known issues:

Problem 1
Leaking rear brake line. Turns out it was completely rusted out at one section. After replacing the entire rear metal line, the rear bleeders sheered off. So, of to tackle that. Two new wheel cylinders and a good bleeding solved that. Seems though, when I said I wanted to rebuild the entire brake system someday the truck must have heard me and decided someday was now. With the rear brakes rebuilt the front line ruptured. So, off to the parts store again. Now the new front line is in and the bleeders in front are frozen. Sure to sheer off again I opted to just pick up new calipers before tackling this job. I have them awaiting installation at the moment.

Problem 2
Tires, The rears arent too bad, but the tires were never properly inflated and the outside blocks were flush with the wear lines. The fronts on the other hand, were completely shot. Seems someone cheaped out on an alignment and the insides are THROUGH the belts up front. Outside shows decent tread still. So as of today I ordered 265/75/R16 TreadWrite Guard Dog M/T Tires. Should be arriving in the mail within a week Im guessing.

Problem 3
Exhaust. I was told it needed the pipe from the muffler back. Upon further inspection I found this:

I dont think I need to say much else. I swapped the rust bucket for a Cherry Bomb Extreme 2.5" single in/single out unit, and gutted the catalytic converter. Still awaiting a call from the junkyard for the over-the-axle section of the exhaust.

After getting it home I quickly gave it a good bath and started primering the chasis and underside for under-coating. This is still a work in progress. Its gotten too cold to continue spraying so this will have to wait until it warms up in spring.

Eventually the whole thing will get repainted.

I got bored and hated the front CD holder in the center consol, and quickly made better use of it.

Obviously I need new carpet. This will be taken care of with a rubber liner replacement from LMCTruck (thanks SunlitComet)

Tires are in and I scored a dual antenna setup from a buddy that Ill probably secure to the roof rack, no pics of that yet. Very pleased with the tires so far. Havent had the funds to get them mounted yet though.

I gotta see how you mount the antennas. I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

I've spent about $150 so far bringing the brakes back to life. Exhaust will run around $60 from the local junk yard. I'm still debating how to mount my antenna's. I might need more cable.
