I have an 09 Tahoe XFE. The Suspension RPO is ZW7 but the shocks recommended on this site for a ZW7 package say "except for XFE package". My question is what shocks should I use? The OEM ones have been discontinued, I'm lost!!!

Hi William. How do you like the XFE? Does it really get better fuel economy?

Open your glovebox and look at the RPO Sheet on the inside door. Look for codes that begin with 6 and 7, these are your left and right shock codes for the front. From that we can extrapolate what the rears are.

Also let us know if you have G69 along with ZW7 too.

I'm coming up with 20833776 for the rear shocks. ACDelco's number for this is 540-576. Summit Racing looks to have them.

I think the front are 20765171/540-460 but should check that against your RPO sheet (6CN, 6CS, 6RN and 7CN, 7CS, 7RN).

Good old Z71 with Rancho Shocks and specially tuned springs. It would stand to reason that they might use the strongest control arms available too.

yaa that's what I figured but I fail to see how the control arms would be inherently different

I get about 20 mpg hwy (19.5) if I run the A/C and about 18.5 mpg in town so I like it. Had to have the engine replaced at 115,000 mi and I've got the standard dash board cracks but all in all I like it. It just sits rear low because someone put some Rancho shocks on it that I don't think are correct.

The RPO shows 6CS and 7CN I have a GU4 and a G80 but no G69.

The dealership gave me GM part number 20833776 which is discontinued, they said their system showed 19158785 as a suitable replacement but when I tried to order them the GM website wouldn't let me because it said they weren't compatible.
