I know this is a dead horse but im at a complete loss, there arent any codes that pop up when it stalls, but only does it when coming to a stop after driving 10 miles. Will not restart for 30 minutes to an hour regardless of foot to the floor like i have read on other threads.Once in a while the service stabilitrack light comes on, or the service brakes soon. Brakes are good, have about 3/4 pad on front and almost full pad on back. I have replaced cmp, ignition switch, ecm, throttle body, fuel pump, alternator, cleaned maf sensor took to 2 different shops one replaced the cmp again like 3 days after i put in one from autozone, (was OE quality) ive learned gm products can be picky about things that arent OE. And then it still did it, took it back and then he said it wouldnt do it for him, took it somewhere else, and they said the same thing nothing was wrong.Anyhow, i have cleaned all the ground cables i can see and reach. Replaced all the rubber and plastic vacuum lines. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or assistance. Any help is appreciated, as i am not tech savy or a fan of chevy but wife wanted it. My daily is an 85 f150 which is about as simple as you can get lol

How long have you had it, and is there any history you can share? Has it done this since you acquired it, or did it start doing this recently?

When it stalls and doesn't start, is that a "no crank" or is it "crank-no-start?"

After the cam sensor was changed, was a CASE relearn (cam/crank correlation) performed?

Has the battery been load tested?

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

You are already receiving clarifying questions from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

Yes, non-GM parts can create issues. You said that you purchased a cmp from Autozone that was 'GM quality', but was it actually a GM product? I don't think so. I'm not saying that this is the source of your issue, but it could be.

Have you had the battery load tested on a bench out of the truck? If no, take the battery to a local parts store with a bench load tester and have it load tested.

You have confirmed clean and tight ground connections in the engine bay, but how about the ground connection on the truck's frame underneath below the driver's feet?

Do you have, or have access to, a quality bi-directional scanner? If not, I recommend that you get yourself a quality bi-directional scanner to add to your tool box. Then, you will be able to read ALL trouble codes (not just the ones that cheap unidirectional scanners can access), along with a brief explanation/pointer to the source of your issue. You will also be able to reset/delete trouble codes, after taking corrective action. You will literally save thousands of dollars in diagnostic and repair costs over the life of your truck, and you will most likely recoup the cost of the scanner within 1 year.

Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

Definitely load test the battery as advised above, and check the resistance on your positive and negative battery cables. They do tend to wear out. As they heat up they also tend to increase in resistance.

It's not the resistance necessarily, but the ability to handle the load. Load test the main connections using a voltage drop test. Plenty of YouTubes out there; here's one:

I have had it for going on 3 years now. It did this same thing one time about 2 months after i purchased it from the dealership. But it cooled off and fired back up about 20 minutes after it stalled. Almost a year ago we did have the curtain airbags deploy, but it didnt act up until January of 2025. Airbags deployed july of 2024, hit a bump in the road and pop. And when the vehicle stalls it is a crank no start. And the mechanic shop that replased the censor said and charged me for a relearn, and because i didnt trust him i hooked my scan tool on it and did another relearn after it failed taking it home that day. Hoping maybe that would help but it didnt. I have load tested the battery and even barrow a new battery from where i work.

the air bags blew off from a pot hole? unless this was a bad enough pot hole that you could get real. damage from it. I. gotta think you have some big wiring issues.

is this northern truck that really rusty out?

all that aside, have you done the basics trouble shooting with your. scanner while it won't start, like check the fuel pressure, that the injectors are opening. does it have spark? that kinda thing? can your scanner connect to other modules in the truck and display live data during the no start? that would help to know if the canbus network is working or not.
