What’s up fellow Tahoe friends
Recently purchased a 2007 Tahoe. I have read a few other threads about rear ac issues but none of them really compare to mine.
Issue at hand.
Front ac blows cold. Also operates as normal. (Switch between heat and cold)
Rear ac will sometimes blow hot when ac is turned on (dual climate set to coldest setting 60 degrees).
When you turn the truck off and back on it will sometimes go back to being cold ac..
I haven’t had the time to check the rear actuator. I will be doing that this weekend. However I feel like it could possibly be the control module for the rear ac.
Freon levels are good as I have recently had it serviced.
Thanks for the help

I had this issue with my 07 Ltz (251,000miles)
A week or so after buying it I went to go leave and the battery was dead so first thought was hey let me check to make sure the battery terminals are tight and sure enough the negative was loose. Once driving the driver side was stuck on heat as well as the rear ac so i met my buddy who is a mechanic and he’s old school. He took both batter terminals off and held them together in his hand he told me this cycles out all the power on the vehicles resetting computers or something of the sort anyways he put them back on the battery and told me to start it up with the ac turned all the way down he said let that sit for however long i think a couple min maybe less (to let the ac door actuator reset itself) then run the ac from low to high to calibrate it and bam fixed itself by recalibrating the ac system I’m sorry I don’t have better details I have papers in my truck on how to do it from the dealership I can post pics of that when I get home wensday if needed
Hope this helped you buddy

As stated and nice to start with the easy stuff. While you’re at it check all terminals and especially ground cables. These rigs have a history of bad or corroded cables.

Thanks for the reply y’all. I’ll have to try that. I know I the battery it self is good as I just had it tested when getting my alignment completed.
I did take the rear panel off and watched the actuators. When they move from hot to cold (the blend door). It moved back and forth a lot. Kind of like it is confused. I left it on cold and unplugged it for the time being. I’ll do the reset and see what that does

My rear ac is blowing hot again. Can you tell me where you found the actuator at? Gunna have my buddy look at it when he comes and helps me with the breaks later while I do my lift and shocks

it’s located behind the right rear interior panel. I removed the panel and the blend door actuator is behind the blower motor housing. I had to remove like two screws and rotate the box a bit to get to it. I still haven’t replaced mine. Just got it to go into cold and unplugged it. South Carolina heat is starting to get brutal. Good luck.
