Ok so is there a way to just get like fresh air to go in the vehicle? I was driving today and usually I have it set at auto, today I had it set to off, I could feel heat coming out of the defrost vents. Is there a way to get fresh air with this system? Thanks

There should be a fresh air or recirculate button or control. However, you may have an issue with a blend door not moving into the proper position that you are telling it to, like in Auto.

Mine always defaulted to fresh air everytime the vehicle is shut off.
Same with the manual controls as well..

I get tired of pushing that recirc button...

for best results adjust the temp to cold, directed down, then turn it off and just adjust the recirculate

All blend doors work as they should in my 800 models it easy but seems in the 900 I can't get fresh like when it's 65° I want fresh air not heat or ac,if I set it at 64° ac comes on,set at 66 heat comes on.
Not a fan of opening windows and regulate air that way! My 800s are especially easy.

Best to get a good scanner hooked up to see what is wrong.
Then you can check temp sensors, and actuator position vs commanded position..

My issue is it keeps going to fresh air when I want it recirc! (auto and manual controls)
Maybe your recirc actuator, especially since GM is obsessed with keeping it on fresh air all the time..

I don't think there is a problem except operator error lol. It the time of year, if I hit recirculation then then fan comes on I honestly would like it to blow fresh air from outside without heat or ac on, just fresh air.
