04 Tahoe side mirror Q

Hello all, newbie here, lots of great info here! The side mirrors on my Tahoe seem to of pulled away at the a pillar, the triangular plastic piece. The mirrors are tightened, but they whistle at freeway speed’s since they aren’t flush with the door. Anybody else have this issue? Was thinking of removing them and using a heat gun to heat the plastic To see if I can get them to bend and fall into place. Any other fixes anyone would recommend?
