im trying to add a 250 - 500 RMS sub without having to install a new stereo.
its non-bose with a stock subwoofer. could the stereo handle the power or would i have to get a whole new deck?

Use an amp to power the sub. You'll eventually fry the output on the deck from the low impedance load and even possibly the sub from distortion.

use your factory sub wires and connect them to the line out conv. then run pwr and remote turn on and ground the amp.
