Thanks but I don't trust them as they are recommending 4 ohm spears to replace a 2 ohm speaker. I was told I would need an amp to power them

If you want a 2 ohm they probably have one. Also, a dual voice-coil 4 ohm wired in parallel will get you 2 ohms. For the '02 stock sub location, you want a sub designed for a sealed enclosure (non-ported) with a very small cavity requirement. I went with a JL 8" free-air (Vas ~ 0.3 cu/ft?), sealed the stock sub "box" as good as possible, and added a dedicated sub amp mounted on the floor under the middle 2nd row seat, with appropriate power and ground along with a farad or so capacitor. It's been several years, so my specs may be off.

Turns out it is a JBL 8" (no spec on details), driven by a Blaupunkt PCA2120 dedicated amp.

Pioneer, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, MB Quart and JL Audio all offer 2 ohm capable 8" shallow mount subwoofer drivers for sealed boxes sized less than .5 cu. ft. There might be some slight modifications or trimming involved but solutions are out there. I just researched this yesterday while planning an audio refit for my Yukon XL.

And as stated above I would stay away from the cheaper brands. Quality of those is hit or miss at best. In my opinion it is better to spend $150 than waste $50. I install a lot of marine systems and have this conversation frequently.
