Welllll picked up my NBSS complete intake up today for $50. I'm pretty stoked about it honestly it's about time the Tahoe got something performance wise. I'm gonna try and use the nnbs fuel rails c5 return less fuel filter and go ahead and bypass the coolant line in the TB. Considering how high the x-link is to run the 87 mm, I think I'll go ahead and just buy the 4 to 3 bolt adapter for the time being. I know this swap is pretty straight forward and simple but if anyone has input please go ahead and chime in

How did you get it for $50? Nice deal.

I have read about a decent amount of people having issues with the xlink. Id probably go the route you did for that reason alone. I wonder how much real world performance improvement there is to be had with the 87mm vs the 79mm on an otherwise fairly stock setup. I know that the whole swap can be good for ~25hp.

Getting bored with waiting on parts for my intake so I'm finding ways to entertain myself. Progress pics on painting my mirror caps. They turned out well for something I have very little money in and a can job at that. I did put a hairline crack in one getting it off though :banghead:

I just put my old bolts back in, but if I'm not mistaken, @Fosscore found some flat headed bolts to put in, instead of the round headed stockers. How many people would even notice tho? Not many.

I put the bolts back in. you can leave them out. I just didn't want water and debris settling in there and building up over time so when you go to put bolts back in they don't get stuck. or possible corrosion build up

You can just put the stock bolts back in place or get some grub screws and use some silicone to seal it. Then it will be completely flush to the roof. The threaded inserts can only be removed if you drop your headliner as the the part on the roof is flat like a washer, poking thru the roof and then the interior part is a long nut that threads and compresses it.

You probably won't escape the imprints/marks left behind from the rack that may not polish out, but again even lowered I cannot see the top of my truck. I did put the Esky rack on which covers it up, but it does look sweet naked though.
