Haven't had much of any progress on the Tahoe the past few days I'm hoping to get the front windows and brow done this weekend maybe start with my audio stuff...found a set of oem parking lights in my closet that were pretty clean so I'll need to put those in aswell. Looking at prices on a billet bow tie and my stomach dropped lol so this ones probably going to end up painted and cleared black:birgits_tiredcoffee

So it's been a week or two been busy haven't paid the Tahoe much attention. I did get the front windows re tinted to match the factory tint. The 5% looked out of place and it ended up tearing so 20% will do until I can get it professionally all redone. I put a transfer case in for a long time friend and fellow member and in return I got a nice jenson single din fold out and that's where the confusion began lol. The Marco light is irrelevant but man is it worth it's weight in GOLD!! Best $100 I've ever spent. Gonna go ahead and start a step by step on what I did to bypass the factory amp that I had no clue I had so be patient with me

Ok so I found out that my no sound issue was caused by the factory amp. This Tahoe doesn't have Bose so for the first few days I was stumped. Did some digging and even posted a thread on here and no replies with no luck. I fellow member actually posted a thread on bypassing the amp a long time ago but i was nervous on cutting wires so I did more digging. I found out that the amp signal wire Is the pink wire shown in the pic. You can by pass it by tying the remote wire into it as shown...now I'm not sure if this is safe or not? So if you see something wrong with this please speak up lol.

The end result is nice. The biggest pain in the ass in this was fighting all the wires behind the radio :Stupid Me: So far the only complaint on this is the screen hitting the gear shifter when I crank it. I may be able to go in the setting and change this I'll have to check into that

That's why I got rid of mine. Kept hitting the shifter, which got to be VERY annoying.

You should do the Double DIN mod, it's easy for that truck. The 03-up dash bezels are on EBay all the time for a reasonable price. My Denali one was hard to find but yours would be easy to find.

I had a flip out in my 02. There is a setting that allows the screen to stay out all the time. I personally like the flip out because the screen was slightly higher.

Mine installed in my 05 silverado, with original install vvv

I personally didn't like it higher up so I custom mounted it to be lower and reversed it so the cubby was on top. Made for the screen to be a little more level with the top of the dash and brought it down close to the ac controls.

Just an option when and if you get the 03+ dash. There will be a cubby that comes with it.

I did too. I will forever miss that truck. Had @ScottyBoy mod my gauges and buttons to led blue, including door switches and headlight/fog light switch, exc.
Will do the same with the tahoe ;)
