How can you lower a tahoe/yukon that much in the back and still have any usable suspension travel? It looks like there is only about 6+inches between the axle and the frame on a stock truck, so by lowering the truck that much, you are almost axle on frame. I'm going to bag mine, so I'm not worried about that, but I'm just curious how that works with springs and a 6 inch drop

easy cut off the bumpstop bracket in rear and with the complete rear kit still rides well. Guys that tow or plan to put system or people all the time in rear all you do is add helper bags. The way i designed the rear coils ride very good as was shown on the test trucks here.

Yo, Tony...I have seen your commitment to the community by reading up on the right and wrong ways to lower a Tahoe. Keep doing what you're doing...thank you! :)

I saw your 4-5/5-6 lowering kit on your site Tony and I overlooked it until I saw this thread. I overlooked it because there are other threads on here cautioning against the combination of the djm 3" lca's *and* the lowering spindles. I never saw any good reason why, so I'm trying to understand what the compromises are (if any) when going this low. It sounds as if the ride quality is good, which I'm happy to hear. However, there are two main things that concern me...

The first thing is the ride height of the bottom side of the truck...how much ground clearance is there? Could we get some pictures and/or measurements? How often does any part of the bottom of the Tahoe scrape?

The second thing that concerns me is the available suspension travel in front and back before bottoming out. I totally understand the potential for needing air assist in the rear, but how often does an unladen Tahoe bottom out with this kit on "normal" city streets?

ive done the belltech spindles with the 3 inch arms (as well as many others on gmfullsize) with no issues.

in front with the keys cranked up you will be fine it wont scrape on a 305 35 24 tire would be at 32.5 at highest point with keys jacked up from ground to fendelrip

in rear my 6 inch drop springs ride nice. YOu can load up a boat and 5 people in back no issues as long as you use helper bags which cost about 80 dollars.

My springs ride great in rear as long as you cut the bracket off and if you load it up just use helpers and youw ill be fine.

Hey mci007,
Thank you for posting this, I love the stance. I'm curious if you would measure and post what the distance from the ground to the bottom of the fender lip for front and back. I'd also love to see pictures of your ground clearance underneath your Tahoe...would you be so kind as to measure and/or post pictures? :)

How's the Tahoe handle when you throw it into turns?

Hey all, just finished my DJM 3/5-6 drop, I put a couple of pics togather for you guys. Lots of extras, Like rear helper bags. and the Spohn upper and lower rear control arms and Spohn panhard bar.

The ride is very good, you MUST cut out the old rear bump stops to allow the suspension to work correctly.
