    Wiring doors

I thought it was only the rear doors that have molex plugs on them. The front doors have a plastic piece that clips to the body of the truck, but you can still run wires through it without drilling.

    New Speakers

I haven't dealt a whole lot with Polk Momo, but from what I have installed of theirs I was not impressed. I would look into the JL Audio TR650-CSi components. They won't break the bank and you don't need to worry about dealing with a crossover since there is an inline capacitor on the tweeters.

    Speaker buying online??

I used to have two sets of XRs in my old truck and I worked for a JL dealer for years so I have heard pretty much everything as far as their current lineup (and a lot of their old stuff). The only ones I'm not a fan of are the ZR Series. Personally I would go with Hertz as my first choice, then...

    Bose amp bypass?

The tweeters are actually paralleled off the front speaker with a cap mounted to the tweeter, they are not crossed over inside the amp. You will need to use the crossover that comes with the component set you get.

    Speaker buying online??

I agree with Mike, I know JL does not make any 2 ohm components or coax speakers.

    2004 With Bose

I've always been a loyal Eclipse guy when it came to navigation, but I have really started to like the Kenwood nav units also since they started using Garmin for the nav. Here is the link to Eclipse http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/avn/index.html Kenwood link...

    2004 With Bose

Personally I would go with an aftermarket nav. You can easily integrate a lot more into it if you wanted to such as satellite radio or iPod. To retain Onstar, Bose, and door chime your best option, in my opinion, is the PAC OS-2Bose. The steering wheel controls will depend on what brand radio...

    '09 Yukon Audio Upgrade

PAC is actually owned by Peripheral (AAMP of America is their parent company), and either of those two brands are, in my opinion, the best around as far as radio replacement modules and steering wheel control interfaces. The OS-4 wil retain Onstar, door chime, and the Bose system. As for...

    reuse factory xm antenna?

If you break the plastic housing off the end of the factory XM antenna it will fit into the aftermarket receiver. It doesn't stay on there very well though, in the past I have put a little piece of strip caulk on it to keep it in place. I would not cut the ends of the antennas off, it will be...

Where would be a good ground location...

Are you getting noise on everything (ie FM radio, CD player) or is it just on the add ons (Sirius, Bluetooth, headrest monitors)? Alternator whine is not always necessarily from a dirty ground or a ground loop, but it's definitely a possibility. I have found that the driver side kick tends to...

Denali amp install on a stock BOSE system? Where to put the RCA converter?

You need to get amp turn on at the main ignition harness. The factory wire colors are: Ignition- Pink Accessory- Brown or Orange

    2007 Denali radio replacement

The acc wire coming directly out of the OS4 is a very low current wire. They add the outboard relay so you can hook up more than just the radio acc to it. This probably goes without saying, but make sure you don't leave the amp turn on connected to the 12v battery wire permanently.

    2007 Denali radio replacement

Try taking the amp turn on off the OS4 acc wire and temporarily hook it up to the 12v battery source (yellow wire on the OS4) and try starting the truck with the door closed. This will tell you if it has something to do with the acc wire on the OS4. Did you make sure to hook up the acc wires on...

avearage price for a double din install

It depends on what year truck you have. At most of the shops I worked at for a 2000-2002 we were charging between $200-$225 for the radio install only. If there were any add-ons such as sat radio, iPod, Bluetooth, etc the price went up. For a 2003-2006 for just a radio w/ nav install it ranged...

    12V ACC switched power

There are a couple different places you can get ignition. You're right, there is no ignition at the radio harness. The first place you can get it at is the main ignition harness. There you will find a true ignition and true accessory. If I remember correctly, at the ignition harness, ignition is...

    Service Air Bag

Try disconnecting the battery for about 15 mins and see if that gets it to go away, sometimes it just needs reset. If you connect an OBD II scanner it will tell you exactly what code is being triggered and why the air bag light is coming on. If you are only intermittently popping fuses, it...

    2007 Denali radio replacement

No, you will need one that has a 12v and a ground coming out of both sides. The filters that I have always used were the ones that came on the harness of the Pioneer navigation units. I can't guarantee that it will get rid of the noise entirely, but it might be worth a shot. Here is a link...

    2007 Denali radio replacement

The factory amp will shut off just like normal when you turn the truck off and open a door. A ground loop isolator works sometimes and sometimes it makes it much worse. Since you are using the Bose amp a ground loop isolator will not work, they are made for RCAs to aftermarket amps not wire to...

    2007 Denali radio replacement

Did you hook up the factory amp turn on? It is usually a blue with white stripe off the aftermarket head unit, although it may be different with a full PC. There should be a blue w/ white stripe (or solid blue on some models) on the OS4 also, this is what turns on the factory amp. Even though...

Damn state cops and their tint laws...

I went a few years in Florida with limo over the factory, 5% on the front doors, and 30% over the whole windshield and no one ever messed with me. Here in Georgia they can slap you with a $1000 fine and/or a year in jail and at least in Cobb County they will nail you for tint whenever they can...

    Dash Kits

Best Kits makes a pocket to replace the stock cassette, but it isnt going to be wide enough for an EQ. If you really want to put it there, you are going to have to modify the dash. You could always go with the regular dash kit for that truck that has an EQ opening built right in. Here is the...

    Sub Box for 15's

Especially if you are going to port it. If you are going to do anything with fiberglass it becomes much harder to calculate box volume. Here is an Escalade that was done at a shop I used to work at down in Florida. ---------- Post added at 02:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at...
