Supertech 5w-30 Blended in an '07 Tahoe

Good to know! I looked in my manual and it says 5w-30 and the old GM6094M standard, which I didn't know was a blend. I used 80W90 conventional in the front diff. I took it for a test drive today and it didn't blow up, lol. Oil pressure was 42 at a cold idle, 35 at a warm idle. 50 psi when giving...

    2007 Tahoe Front Diff fluid.

There was no metal on it, just the silt looking stuff on the drain plug you described. Being a little OCD, I pulled about 13oz out of it yesterday, which leaves me about 3oz over, which I can sleep at night with. Got my ECM back from LT1Swap yesterday and it fired right up. I'll take it for a...

Supertech 5w-30 Blended in an '07 Tahoe

Another newbie question. I usually run Supertech full synthetic 5w-30 in my tuck with an ac delco filter. I guess on my last oil change (30 miles ago), I grabbed Supertech's 5w30 blended and did some reading on it and it's not dexos licensed. Question is, should I do another oil change and put...

    2007 Tahoe Front Diff fluid.

Oh, I thought it was 2....now I've probably overfilled it...crap. Thanks for your comment, I need to verify capacities before I go changing things. A good lesson for me.

    2007 Tahoe Front Diff fluid.

Have another question for you folks. I've recently, like very recently, decided to start doing my own maintenance on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Today's job was to replace the front differential fluid. The truck has 175k miles on it and I don't think the front diff oil has ever been changed. Yes, my...

Thanks 89, I saw those but wasn't sure how well they would work on gear oil. Apprec the input.

I could do that too! I think I'll follow that suggestion, thx!

Reasonably priced electric gear oil extractor pump?

Looking for a reasonably priced (<$100) electric gear oil pump/extractor. If there was a manual pump you'd suggest, I'd look at that too but I haven't found either. TIA

What are these rubber pieces on my 2007 tahoe rear diff fill plug?

I guess when I pull the cover I'll know if there's a gasket or rtv was used. I'm hoping gasket so I can re-use it. Otherwise I'll have to clean it up really good and use RTV to put it back on, which I've never done. And, it'll be in a cold garage - which I read you should only use RTV in temps...

What are these rubber pieces on my 2007 tahoe rear diff fill plug?

I didn't see an o-ring on the fill plug, so maybe that's it. The pieces don't look like they were ever round tho, straight as an arrow.

What are these rubber pieces on my 2007 tahoe rear diff fill plug?

Possible, but they are so uniform, not like something squeezed out of a tube?

What are these rubber pieces on my 2007 tahoe rear diff fill plug?

Sorry, I just noticed the sections are based on model years. Appreciate it !

What are these rubber pieces on my 2007 tahoe rear diff fill plug?

I have a road hum when I drive my 2007 Tahoe (rear end is a G80) so I thought I'd check the read diff fluid. When I pulled the fill plug, I found about five 1/2" rubber pieces that are about as thick as pencil lead, stuck with some grease/sludge on the fill plug. They are definitely flexible...
