    Thanks for input. The last 4wd vehicle I owned was a couple of decades back so wasn't sure of todays thinking. I live near the beach with some moderate to deep sand. I'll do some driving in 4wd there.

    2016 with 100k shifted like butter. 2025 Z71 Tahoe with 8,000 shifts like an old farm tractor with a bad clutch. It's shifted roughly since new. Dealer says...you guessed it....normal.

    Ive had both. I didn't notice much in 6.2 vs 5.3 except when towing. The 6.2 is much more powerful when towing and will get to freeway speed much quicker. Normal daily driving...not much. Would I buy an older 6.2. No.

    To follow up on my original question....The dealer did a full service as part of the first free one. I asked for an kept the oil filter. I have a filter cutter than doesn't leave any metal. The filter showed no signs of metal after 5000 miles.

    Start/Stop

    I just purchased a 2025 Z71 Tahoe with 5.3. I'm almost at a 1000 miles. The engine has never shut down while stopped, even for long periods of time. I'm actually glad it doesn't seem to be working, but curious if others see the same.

    Broken oil pan bolt

    Bolt extractors are your worst enemy. Weld a washer on, weld a nut to the washer, crank it out. Throw extractors in the trash.

    Random music playing when Tahoe started

    You are most likely picking up bluetooth from a phone. Happens to me occasionally. I'll get in, start, and music from my neighbors phone is picked up. Turn off bluetooth on your Tahoe and see if it happens.
