I just purchased a 2025 Z71 Tahoe with 5.3. I'm almost at a 1000 miles. The engine has never shut down while stopped, even for long periods of time. I'm actually glad it doesn't seem to be working, but curious if others see the same.

I don't know anyone with a GM truck or SUV that has not installed a disabling device for engine Stop/Start. Fortunately, it looks like this nightmare is coming to an end. The new director of the EPA was asked why the EPA was eliminating the requirement for car engine Stop-Start technology. The EPA Director replied that studies show that the technology saved approximately ONE GALLON of gasoline in the LIFETIME of a vehicle. It has been shown to increase the wear and tear on engines, and it adds about $500-$1000 to cost of each vehicle. And another $100 for the gadget to disable it. And he said, EVERYBODY HATES IT.I just purchased a 2025 Z71 Tahoe with 5.3. I'm almost at a 1000 miles. The engine has never shut down while stopped, even for long periods of time.
