What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

'12 Yukon Denali RH engine mount. Finally both are done...quite a difference in smoothness now. Not a picnic with AWD, but not too terrible.

    Rear U joint replacement

Thanks for that info, greatly appreciated. Could someone verify the part#'s for the front and rear? I assume the top two are for the '12 XL Denali, or the 3rd entry. I have a hard time with a $140 single U-joint lol. There are aftermarket options at half that pricepoint.

    Rear U joint replacement

For the rear of a '12 Yukon, are these retained by a clip or are they epoxied? They look to have clips but the front looks to have epoxy. Curious if the rears need to be pressed or will a C-clamp work with a large socket.

2008 5.3/4l60e 3-2 downshift flare. Corvette servo? Extended servo pin?

Something that happened to my 4L60E in my Envoy around 160K, was a 2-3 flare on acceleration. One of the check balls was pretty much pounded through the seperator plate and this is one major reason why 4L60's bite the dust. Once that ball can no longer seal, you get a pressure loss then a...

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

Thanks, I'll do that. Looks like all of this circuitry is under the airbag cover?

Need help diagnosing "Service Air Bag"

2012 XL Denali. This is what comes up on the Tech 2. Hopefully just a sensor up front. The code will not clear also, comes right back.

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

Any updates on this? I had a slight steering wheel shake for about a month, I did need to change my RF hub and bearing so I replaced both along with moving the front wheels to the rear for a test. The shake diminished alot with the tire swap F to R, but was still there slightly. Wheel was...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Front GM# is 19420494. Rear Arnott is 2708, my gut tells me that even though the 2708 is a factory replacement, that the OE BDI might be just a tad softer....not sure though. My RPO codes are Z55, 6XA, 7XA

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

If it's the heater core, you will generally get condensation on the windshield when using defrost, so try that. Double check the coolant T, make sure there's not a small leak that allows coolant to drain down the outside of the hose back into your evaporator box....if the seal is bad where the...

    Pulling rear axle bearings

They are definitely pricey...lol. How does this tool install the tone ring? Does the ring rest against the raised lip of the tool? If so, what sets the depth? Tool flush with axle tube or does the lip stop at where the bearing seats? If I know the seating depth, I may be able to use a socket.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced front struts with OE Z55 cartridges. The slight "washboard" feel over small bumps is now gone...rides so much better. I did the rear Arnott's already, these were overdue at 120K.

Front Z55 electrical connector removal question

    Awesome, thank you.

Front Z55 electrical connector removal question

I've searched for this high and low, but cannot find any info. Safe bet they just pull out, but before I damage anything, how do you remove the front electrical connectors from the top of the front strut cartridge? Not the pigtail, but the whole connector that goes into the top post of the...

    Pulling rear axle bearings

Thanks, great info....I did look at that set from HF, but the pieces I haven't seen in some other sets other than the Powerbuilt are these flip-out adapters... these make holding onto the bearing a bit easier. However iirc, I used them to try to pull a bearing from a TB SS axle which had the...

    Pulling rear axle bearings

Not really, I guess I could monitor it but it's a decent amount of residue size wise, but not wet-wise. That's good to know. Nah...I doubt it, this was more or less a lightly driven garage queen, very clean underneath and was one of the things that made me more interested in purchasing.

    Pulling rear axle bearings

'12 XL Denali, I need to replace an axle seal with 120K miles, just a light residue on the backing plate but want to change both sides. My question/concern is, worst case, if the bearings are worn, does that also correlate to a worn axle shaft, especially if the seal is leaking? Can we...

Front strut mount, do they incorporate a bearing?

    Ok, I think you're right. I wasn't thinking on them being fixed. Needed more of...:Caffeine: . :)

    Stange sound 1500-2300rpm 2011 Yukon 6.2l

Almost sounded like a power steering pump whine in the background as well. I heard it when the RPM's were slowing on the 2nd rev, and during increasing RPM's on the following 3rd rev.

What is the hub and bearing of choice?

I agree OEM is the way to go, but...since they are installed, I'm going to keep on rollin... I have had good luck with Timken in the past, but this is my first swap on a GMT900. I did verify the QR code and they were authentic. Also, since the boxes didn't have the holographic...

Front strut mount, do they incorporate a bearing?

Front of '12 XL Denali, I wanted to ask this in the shock thread I have, but figure it's more specific if anyone needs to search. Does the OE strut mount incorporate a bearing? If so, with 120K miles, I may just replace them as preventative maintenance. Otherwise, if no bearing is incorporated...

What is the hub and bearing of choice?

That was one thing I did check for, thanks for the heads up.

What is the hub and bearing of choice?

Replaced both front hub and bearings a few days ago with the Timkens, quite the difference. The RF had the most wear, the LF felt ok but that faint sense of tire noise is gone.

    Z55 front shocks bad?

OE replacements arrived today, definitely looking forward to getting these swapped out.

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

I would try to source a driveshaft from a boneyard, then replace the U joints.
